Gene Carbonaro has been teaching at Long Beach City College for 23 years. 20 years full-time and 3 years part-time. I received my A.A. Degree from Long Beach City College and my Bachelor's & Master's Degrees from California State University, Los Angeles.

I was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to California in 1980 to attend school. I am married and have 4 children ages 24, 20, 18, and 15. I enjoy movies, vacationing, sports (LAKERS and YANKEES), and spending as much time as possible with my family.

My wife is a Counselor in the Long Beach Unified School District and has been lucky enough to be married to me for the past 27 years. Actually, I am the lucky one.

My 24 year old son completed two years of college at Long Beach City College and graduated from USC Marshall School of Business and hopes to be enrolled in an MBA program starting Spring 2011.

My 20 year old daughter completed two years of college at Long Beach City College and is starting her junior year at CSUF. She wants to go into the teaching profession. Maybe we will share an office someday.
My 18 year old son just graduated from Millikan High School and is currently attending LBCC. He is an excellent athlete. He is an excellent athlete who takes after his dad!!!!

My 15 year old daughter is at Los Alamitos High School. She is a professional dancer and has been working for the past five years. She was a SPARKS Kid and has done work for Mattel Toys, Kids Fit Club Videos, and Debbie Allen Productions. She appeared on the shows "So You Think You Can Dance" and "America's Got Talent". She is currently on the Varisity Song team and they placed 2nd in the nation last year.

I sold my business, Togo's located in the Southbay Area. I owned the store for 14 years. The business world kept me very busy. I enjoyed the business world aspect because it allows me to share real life situations with my classes. I am able to incorporate current business practices into my courses.
