Check your email address in the Viking Student System at Instructions to update your email address

You will not be able to create your Moodle account without an up-to-date and correct e-mail address in the system. Also, if you make a change in the Viking System, you may need to wait for Moodle to be updated with the change. Moodle is updated daily at approximately 8am, 12 noon, and 6pm.

AFTER YOU VERIFY YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS: Obtain a password for Moodle.

1. Go to Moodle at

2. Search for your account on the next screen by Username or E-mail address. Your username is your 7-digit Viking ID. You will receive two emails, sent to your registered e-mail address. The first e-mail will contain a link for you to click to confirm your request.  Once confirmed, a second e-mail will be sent to you with a temporary password and a link to log in. Log in with this temporary password and you will be prompted to choose a new one.

3. Once logged in, you will only see courses that your instructor has made available to you (click on “My Home” or “My Courses” on the left).

If you have any trouble, contact Distance Learning at or (562) 938-4818.
