Anthony Starros began college as an Art major, but he finished with a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing in 1999. During his last year at CSULB, he won the James I. Murashige Scholarship for his short story"Papou." After a stint as a freelance copywriter for some marketing and advertising firms, he began teaching at various colleges in and around the LB area, and he accepted an invitation to join the faculty at LBCC full-time in 2002.
He continues to write fiction and non-fiction alike, and in the years since finishing graduate school has rediscovered his love for photography and painting.
Anthony has taught composition, creative writing, and literature at Goldenwest College, Cypress College, Orange Coast College, and CSULB. He currently teaches composition and creative writing and is a member of the Jacaranda Essay Contest Committee, the Creative Writing Committee, the LBCC Academic Senate, and the Senate Executive Committee.
