You can use your LBCC Student Center to monitor your financial aid from beginning to end. We’ll send you letters but you’ll see it online here first.
About a week after you submit a FAFSA start checking your Student Center. The first result you‘ll see are items in your Financial Aid To Do List. These are forms or information we need before we can award you financial aid. You can submit our forms online. We still must print and enter the forms so they’ll continue to appear in the list for a few business days. We review them based on the date you submit them however. Even if you’re file is complete it’s a good idea to check your list again since a counselor may require information later after reviewing your forms.
If you didn’t use the IRS DRT at the FAFSA web site and need to submit tax forms you must submit everything in person at the same time.
Some lucky students will receive a No Information Required message. Your file is complete.
If you’re required to submit a Petition or Appeal of any kind it will show in your list until it’s been reviewed by a Financial Aid Counselor. When it’s removed from the list it as been reviewed and a response has been mailed to you.
When you don’t have any items in your FA To Do List, turn your attention to View Financial Aid. This is where your award (s) will appear first. We begin making awards by the beginning of June and add awards weekly throughout the school year. The dollar amounts will usually be for full time attendance. See How We Disburse Financial Aid for more information.
The next activity will take place in Account Activity (click on “other financial” first). Every week we authorize awards for disbursement by LBCC Fiscal Affairs to Higher One. When your award has been authorized it will be posted in your account. The money will arrive at Higher One in about 10 days. Higher One will send you an email/text message when they receive it. See Financial Aid Disbursement Schedule for a complete list of dates.
