| Dr. Elsa Saucedo was born and raised in Durango, Mexico. She received all her degrees from UCI: B. A. in Bilingual Education and Spanish/ minor in Biology; M.A. in Spanish Literature; Ph. D. in Spanish American Literature, with a focus on the Mexican Novel, and Literary Criticism. In her more than 25 years of teaching experience she has taught all levels of Spanish including: Spanish 1 to Spanish 4. Spanish for Heritage Speakers, Spanish for Bilingual Educators, and Literature courses. Dr. Saucedo joined LBCC full- time in 1991. She also taught at UCI, UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona, Rancho Santiago Community College and served as consultant for L. A. and Orange County's departments of Education and their teacher training programs. Professor Saucedo led Summer Study Abroad Programs in Salamanca and Madrid, Spain. She has traveled extensively through Mexico and Spain, and has spent considerable time in Argentina, France, Portugal,and Sweden. |
