The Gateway to Greatness Campaign focuses on PEOPLE:
Students, Faculty, and Community.

The Gateway to Greatness goal of $5 million allows the Long Beach City College Foundation to double the amount of scholarships to $1 million annually and increases support to College faculty and programs.

The past generosity of our donors has allowed the Foundation to grant over $6 million in scholarships, and over $6.5 million in program support, to date.

The need is immediate. The real cost of college is far higher than the cost of tuition, and Foundation scholarships cover books and other expenses as well.

Foundation support has funded:

• Purchase of the planetarium-projection system
• Playground equipment at the new Child Development Center
• Remodeling of the Health Care Learning Center
• Upgrades to the Adapted Physical Education facility
• The Underwater Robotics Team, allowing it to win international competitions

The Long Beach City College Foundation is a nonprofit organization operating independently of the College to raise funds for scholarships, faculty initiatives, and facility enhancements, which contribute to the College's outstanding and evolving learning environment.

Since it was founded in 1978, the Long Beach City College Foundation has raised more than $25 million dollars to benefit the College community.

In each of the past 5 years, the Long Beach City College Foundation has averaged:

• Over 700 scholarships totaling over $500,000
• Over $500,000 in program support
• Over 50 Departmental grants totaling over $30,000
