Salvador Saenz
Salvador Anthony Saenz is a Re Max real estate agent. He mentors new agents and teaches a workshop on various aspects of the real estate business. Sal is on the Board of Directors for Musical Theater West and was instrumental in their move to Long Beach. Some of the committees he has chaired are Marketing, Board Development, and Fund Raising. He has procured major funds for the Youth Cultural Enrichment Programs. He also has been involved with fundraising for the Health Services for the Disabled, JMCA and ASF. |

Bill Smitheran
Bill Smitheran received his AA degree from LBCC after receiving his Ph. D.! When he served as an academic counselor on campus, he found joy in helping students on their educational journey. Bill continues to serves as a member of the Athletic Associates Board and is involved in the annual golf tournament. |

Donita Van Horik was an Executive Director for Information Technology for Karl Stor Endoscopy in Culver City prior to retiring. She was president, treasurer and member of the Long Beach League for the John Tracy Clinic for fourteen years. She is an associate member of the Assistance League of Long Beach and a member of the 2006 Class of Leadership Long Beach. She is currently Board Development Chair for the Long Beach Day Nursery and former President and Personnel Chair. |

Ken Velten serves as the LBCC Foundation Treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee. Ken also sits on the Foundation Executive Board. He is a retired Boeing accountant and is active with the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. |

Dr. Mike Walter
Dr. Mike Walter, Assistant to the President for Community Relations at California State University Long Beach and former Dean of its College of Business Administration, was elected vice president of the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners by his colleagues in July 2007. In business, he held senior executive positions with three multibillion, multinational companies: Levi Strauss, Du Pont and Rockwell International. He is a former chairman of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and a former president of the International Business Association. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saint Mary Medical Center. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Conference for Community and Justice, the Boys and Girls Club, Leadership Long Beach, Workforce Development, the Queen Mary Preservation Committee, and the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation. Walter also served on the Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners for two years. President Bush's Business Advisory Council selected Dr. Walter as a 2005 Businessman of the Year award winner. |

Dr. Grace Margaret "Meg" Westlund
Dr. Grace Margaret "Meg" Westlund has been a Long Beach resident for almost 35 years. She was Scholarship Coordinator at Long Beach City College from 1989 to 2004. She also served two terms a President of the Foundation's Fine Arts Associates. Meg is a former member of the Auxiliary of the Los Angeles Symphony, and the Long Beach PTA. She is an honorable member of the Long Beach Campfire, a life member of the Assistance League of Long Beach, former Board member of the Long Beach Day Nursery, and is a current member of the Long Beach Memorial Women's League.

Ruth G. Williams
Ruth Williams taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Long Beach for 31 years before retiring in 1995. She is a Life Member of the NAACP and National Council of Negro Women. She is currently president of the Bouggess-White Scholarship Foundation. Ruth was awarded Outstanding Young Women of America 1970 Edition, 1980 Alumnus of the Year, Los Angeles Chapter, Jackson State University National Alumni Association, 2007 Recipient of the President's Award, as a Governor of the Long Beach City College Foundation. In 1993 Ruth and Luther received the Family Life Awards from Family Service of Long Beach.

Michele A. Dobson-Wilson
Michele A. Dobson-Wilson a Long Beach native, is an attorney at the Law Offices of Michele A. Wilson in Long Beach. Prior to receiving her Juris Doctor Degree, she received the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Scholarship, and was a substitute teacher for the Long Beach Unified School District. She also held the positions of a Congressional Intern in the City of Long Beach for the United State House of Representatives and as a District Office Field Representative for the California State Assembly. Ms. Wilson began her career as a Criminal Defense Attorney with the Public Defenders' Office. She is a current board member for the Arts Council, City of Long Beach, Long Beach Opera, Food Finders Non-Profit and Musical Theatre West and is on the committee for the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Classroom Connections. Ms. Wilson received the Zelma Lipscomb Award, NAACP, Long Beach Branch, the Wallace R. Davis Public Service Award, and the Distinguished Alumnae Award, City of Long Beach. She was Honoree, NAACP, Long Beach Branch, "Unsung Local Shero", Business Person of the Month for The Sun Newspaper, Who's Who In the Legal Community, Long Beach Business Journal and Rising Star, Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine.

Ruth Wright
Ruth Wright is an alumna of Long Beach City College. She was a teacher, principal and community leader, serving as president of Assistance League of Long Beach, of which she is a life member, and Lawyers Wives. She is one of the original founders of Literary Women, an author's festival attended by over 700 people annually. She served as President of the LBCC Foundation from 1985-88. She has been very active on the scholarship committee and has established scholarships in honor of family members.
