Adding Content Adding files and course information
Assignments Types of assignments and how to create and grade them.
Attendance The Attendance module is designed for teachers to be able take attendance during class, and for students to be able to view their own attendance record.
Audio and Video Files How to add audio and video to your course.
Auto-Linking How to manage the feature where items you create appear as links in other areas of your course.
Book (The Book resource) A multiple page resource with chapters. Not an interactive resource, but you can add links and videos, etc.
Calendar Using the built-in Calendar.

Chat The chat activity module allows participants to have a real-time synchronous discussion in a Moodle course.
Choice Activity Similar to a Poll, a question with multiple choice replies that can be added anywhere.
Course Administration Menu Create the course settings that are right for your course. Show or hide course availability or gradebook, adjust the weekly or  topic formats.

Default Course View What a blank Moodle course site looks like before content is added.

Importing a Course Import your course content for the next semester.
Label

Create an area for text and images. Add your course description, or add instructions for students.

A small area, or spacer, where you can add your course description, or add instructions for students. Add text, images, banners, graphics, a few words, an image or a lengthy explanation or instructions.

Lesson An interactive assignment.
Link (Hyperlink, Link to the Internet) A link to an outside website.
Logging in to Moodle  
News Forum Rename, move or hide the default "News" forum.
Preferred Language Make sure your Preferred Language is "English - United States." in the Profile Settings. Words such as "enrollment" will be spelled in "United States" English, but more importantly, this affects how dates are displayed in some features, such as Attendance.
Private Files Adding and storing files here insures they are available to multiple classes.
Page Tool Use the Page Tool to set up a basic page that will open in a browser.
Profile (The Profile area) Students can add contact information, a photo, biographical info and interests. Some instructors use profiles as first assignment to gauge participation.
PDF Files: Using PDF Files with Moodle Use the proper settings to insure that your students can access, view and download your PDFs with Moodle.
Quizzes Design and build quizzes: multiple-choice, true-false and short answer. Store in a Question Bank.
Repositories (DropBox and YouTube) Moodle connects to your DropBox account and YouTube videos.
Resources Resources such as documents and presentations. See the “Activities and Resources” link at the bottom of each section.

Syllabus and / or Course information files Provide course documents to your students.
Topics View (Course Administration) A way to organize your course instead of by Weeks. This area appears below the Header Block. At LBCC in the past, you may have heard the term "Modules," which in this case is the same as Topics.
URL -- Creating a Link Create a link to an Internet site.
YouTube Adding YouTube videos.
Weekly View (Course Administration) A way to organize your course instead of by Topics or by Modules. This area appears below the Header Block.
Video and Audio Files You can add videos or embed YouTube videos.
Wikimedia Connect to the free media repository when you use the File Picker.
