Plagiarism Detection
ITDC

TurnItIn: In Fall 2016, LBCC conducted a faculty pilot program of Turnitin (a plagiarism detection software). It has been confirmed that we will be adopting Turnitin and therefore we are currently in the process of purchasing and implementing a site-wide license. This process does take some time, yet we expect Turnitin to be officially available through our Leaning Management System (both Moodle & Canvas) in Fall 2017.

Please contact the Director of Instructional Technology & Distance Learning if you have questions or suggestions for implementation.

In the meantime, below are a few free Plagiarism detection resource options you may consider to use:

Free Plagiarism Detection Resource

Viper :  http://www.scanmyessay.com/turnitin.php
Viper calls itself the "Free TurnItIn Alternative." It scans a large database of academic essays and other online sources, offering side-by-side comparisons for plagiarism. Note: Viper is available for Microsoft Windows users only.

PlagiarismChecker.comhttp://www.plagiarismchecker.com/help-teachers.php
PlagiarismChecker.com makes it simple for educators to check for copied work by pasting phrases from a student's paper into a search box. The system can search through either Google or Yahoo. Users can also use the "Author" option to check if others have plagiarized their work online.

Plagiarisma.net : http://plagiarisma.net
Plagiarisma has a search box as well as a software download available for Windows. Users can also search for entire URLs and files in HTML, DOC, DOCX, RTF, TXT, ODT and PDF formats
