Professional Development icon

Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) are individual activities that allow you to work independently to delve into a specific topic.  The Learning and Academic Resources (LAR) Department has worked with the Flex Committee to originate the DLA options below for your professional development. 

We have staff and instructors ready to help at both the LAC (L212) and PCC (EE206).  Explore the many services we offer through the navigation pane to the left or feel free to stop by either campus’ Multidisciplinary Success Center and find out how we can support you and your students.

Faculty & Staff MDSC DLA

Complete the Faculty and Staff MDSC DLA and find out what the Multidisciplinary Success Centers are all about. Come to either the Multidisciplinary Success Center at PCC (EE206) or LAC (L212) and our friendly front desk staff will help you get started.  Earn four (4) hours Flex credit and learn about the Multidisciplinary Success Centers services and assistance for your students.

First Generation Students in the Classroom DLA

Whether you are teaching your first class at LBCC or you’ve been teaching for 40 years, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the overwhelming number of first generation college students in your classes.  Download and complete the First Generation Students in the Classroom DLA to familiarize yourself with these students. Earn six (6) hours Flex credit and learn about instructional practices that seem to work well with this cohort.
