The structure of the SANKOFA Scholars Learning Community is as follows:
SANKOFA 1 (Fall 2008)
English 801AB (College English Skills I & II) 4 units
Counseling (Orientation to College Success) 1 unit
Counseling 49 (College Study Techniques) 2 units
SANKOFA 2 (Spring 2009)
English 801A/B (College English Skills I & II) 4 units
Counseling 7 (College and Professional Success, CSU transferable) 3 units
SANKOFA 3 (Fall 2009)
English 105 (Fundamentals of Writing, Associate Degree applicable) 4 units
SANKOFA 4 (Spring 2010)
English 1 (English Reading and Composition, CSU/UC transferable) 4 units
(Please note that the structure of the Learning Community is subject to change in the Fall of 2010).
Counseling services for students in the SANKOFA Scholars Program are provided at the Liberal Arts Campus Counseling Center (Blg. A). Erainia Freeman is the SANKOFA Scholars' Counselor and she will assist you in planning your educational and career goals. To make an appointment, stop by the Counseling Center or call 562.938.4560 for an appointment.
SANKOFA Scholars' Club
The SANKOFA Scholars' Club provides you an opportunity for you to participate in extracurricular activities sponsored by the Associated Student Body (ASB), plan special events, and socialize with other LBCC students.
