Welcome to Long Beach City College's Aviation Maintenance website. Our 2 year Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under CFR 14 FAR Part 147. Currently, there are four periods of open enrollment (January, March, August, & October). Please feel free to look around and let us help you launch a new career in aviation maintenance today.

OUR MISSION:  The Long Beach City College Aviation Program is dedicated to the education of safe and conscientious mechanics at an affordable cost. Our classes are geared toward building a solid foundation on practical and theoretical studies. Our facilities provide a diverse array of learning tools to aid students in their path to FAA certification.

OUR HISTORY:  In 1935 prior to WWII, the United States government contracted with many community colleges to train aircraft mechanics & pilots in anticipation of hostility towards the United States. One of the community colleges to participate in the aviation maintenance training program was Long Beach City College, which became involved in 1940-1941. After the war in 1946, the aviation maintenance technician program was certified by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, granting Long Beach City College the federal authority to train highly skilled aircraft mechanics. Today, we proudly continue our world renowned tradition by continuously training highly skilled aircraft technicians focusing on current industry practices & procedures.
