Congratulations to Long Beach City College Class of 2016 for achieving this accomplishment. Certificates and Associates Degrees will be conferred to more than 1,500 graduates.

Graduates line up at the South entrance of the track. All Grads must be in cap and gown.

3 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Commencement Ceremony check-in for students.

Commencement begins

Commencement ceremony will include formal procession.
Seating according to Associates Degree or Certificates.

Alumni Association
Stay in touch with Long Beach City College. Graduating students will receive a free one-year membership to the LBCC Alumni Association if they sign up at the Commencement Rehearsal. Membership benefits include free or discounted tickets to campus shows and outside events, 10% discount at the LBCC Bookstore (with membership card), employment connections, Alumni happenings in the LBCC Foundation newsletter and much more. Attire for Graduates
Commencement Ceremony participants must wear cap and gown. Ceremony participants are not allowed to wear high heels on the track.

Cap & Gown: Student Purchase
Cap and gown will be available for purchase (while supplies last) through Thursday, June 9, 2016 (day of Commencement). For more information, please feel free to check the LBBC Viking Campus Store or (562) 938-4223.

Disability Services/Needs
For assistance or accommodations, please contact Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS) no later than Monday, June 6. You can contact DSPS at (562) 938-4558 voice, (562) 938-4833 TTY or An American Sign Language Interpreter will be present at the commencement ceremony. Large print and Braille programs will be available.  Disabled parking is available at the west side of the Veterans Stadium for individuals with a DMV placard/ DP plate. Wheelchair access is available at the south end of Veterans stadium and ushers will be present to assist as needed. The bleachers at Veterans Stadium are accessible by ramp for individuals using wheelchairs or scooters. There will be limited seating at ground level for individuals with mobility impairments.

Donate Your Gown
Graduates will have the opportunity to donate their gowns immediately after the Commencement Ceremony. Your donated gowns will be given to future LBCC students who would like to participate in the Commencement Ceremony but are unable to afford to purchase a gown.

Live-Streaming Video
LBCC will live stream the Commencement Ceremony at The 2016 LBCC Commencement Ceremony video will available a few days after Commencement! This video will be shown on the LBCC community channels two days after the event on channels 15 (Long Beach), 29 (Lakewood), and 45 (Frontier formerly Verizon Fios).

Parking is free during the Commencement Ceremony at Veterans Stadium. Please enter off of Conant St., south of the stadium from Carson St. Graduates should park or be dropped off near the CHECK IN canopy at the south end of Veterans Stadium. All other guests can park throughout Veteran Stadium parking lot. Persons with disabilities will be directed to park in disabled parking at the west side of Veterans Stadium. Anticipate congestion and traffic delays along Clark and Carson St. before and after the commencement ceremony.  Additional maps can be accessed via Long Beach City College.

The professional 2016 Commencement Ceremony photos can be viewed and purchased through Grad Images as soon as June 16, 2016. Graduates can visit to view and order their pictures. Contact the Grad Images Customer Service Department at (800) 261-2576 if you have any questions. 

Programs will be available at the entrance to the Commencement Ceremony, highlighting graduates, the program and distinguished guests. 

Prohibited Items
Please Note: Due to the close proximity to the Long Beach Airport, NO BALLOONS WILL BE ALLOWED IN VETERANS STADIUM.  Guests with balloons will be asked to leave them in their car. Graduates – please inform your guests of this important information.

No noise makers are allowed in the stadium.

It is strongly recommended that all graduates participate in the Commencement Ceremony Rehearsal on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Line up at the south side of Veterans Stadium, look for the CHECK-IN station and follow important instructions.

Tickets will not be required for attending the ceremony and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
