From the first ball of cotton to the new boutique in Nordstrom from Calvin Klein to Valentino to Liz Claiborne, fashion is a team business, clothing men, women and children of all ages from all ethnic, geographic social / and financial backgrounds. From artistic to scientific, from highly creative to technical from sales to manufacturing the field of fashion is diverse. Hectic high-energy fast-paced exciting fun, and profitable are all terms used to describe it.

The study of fashion involves history, psychology, sociology and art. Fashion is also a business, affected by technological breakthroughs, changes in investment patterns, shifts in consumer attitudes, world events and other economic forces.

The business of fashion contributes significantly to the economy of the United States, through the materials and services it purchases, the wages and taxes it pays, and the goods and services it produces. The fashion business is one of the largest employers in the country.

California's apparel industry is a major success story. It is an important, but often-overlooked contributor to the state's economy. San Francisco and Los Angeles are the largest centers for apparel manufacturing outside New York City. The largest apparel wholesale market in the world is the 3 million square foot California Mart in Los Angeles.

After aerospace, fashion is Los Angeles's biggest business, bigger by far than Hollywood, accounting for nearly $9 billion in annual sales and employing more than 100,000 people. Become part of this excitement - call (562) 938-4192 or (562) 938-4336.
