FREE FOSTER CARE WORKSHOPS

The Foster & Kinship Care Education Program is a statewide program funded by the California Community College Chancellors Office, providing a variety of training programs for foster parents (parent education), and specialized training for relative caregivers, including D-Rate (Severely Emotionally Disturbed), F-Rate (Medically Fragile), Basic and In-service training. KEPS Orientation is offered to support relative care providers with their involvement with child protective services.

Partnering for Safety and Permanence-Model Approaches to Partnerships in Parenting provides mandated training for foster parents in Los Angeles County. This program provides training to all DCFS Foster parents & Prospective Adoptive/Foster parents.

Project YESS empowers foster youth to better understand their choices and actions, and supports a successful transition into adulthood. Project YESS's comprehensive, integrated, and multi-level services address academic performance and life-skills training with the end goal being college degree or certificate completion, self-sufficiency, and employment. Using the 3R's approach, the program aims to build powerful personal relationships that will impart the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to achieve independent living.
