Former Long Beach City Council member and Long Beach City College (LBCC) Alumni Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Kellogg officially assumed his duties as a member of the college's Board of Trustees in 2002. He was re-elected in 2006 and continues to represent the northwest portion of the Long Beach Community College District.

Kellogg professionally specializes in educational and facility master planning for community college districts. This long range planning process is a basis for facility development plans and funding options that will support a college's future educational curriculum. Prior to his career in education planning, he worked as a real estate broker in commercial and investment real estate. Mr. Kellogg has the distinction of being involved in real estate transactions in 38 states across the nation. He has also worked in the oil industry for a Long Beach based oil drilling company that was founded by his Grandfather in 1938 and continued to operate until 1989.

Elected on his first attempt at public office in 1988 at the age of 33, he served for twelve years on the Long Beach City Council. He was elected as Vice Mayor from 1990-1994 and served as Chair of the State and Federal Legislative Committee and the Economic Development and Finance Committee during his tenure on the Council. His accomplishments include establishing a state Enterprise Zone, Business Improvement Association and the North Long Beach Redevelopment Area.

Kellogg was a founding member and Chair of the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA). This $2.2 billion public works project was a joint effort of the cities and ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles. The construction of the 19 mile rail corridor that eliminated traffic congestion in numerous cities and allowed port cargo to move more efficiently was called a "project of national significance" by the United States Congress and was completed on time and under budget.

Kellogg is a lifelong resident of Long Beach. Following his days as a student at LBCC, he attended the University of Oregon on an athletic scholarship, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree and was honored with an Outstanding Senior Award.

Jeff Kellogg and his wife Pam reside in the Los Cerritos area of Long Beach with their two children. They are both involved in numerous organizations and serve on boards of directors through their respective business and community involvements.
