Nassef Girgis
Manager
 

Nassef Girgis assumed his position as manager of the International Student Program at LBCC in 2009. For the past 18 years, Mr. Girgis has worked in various educational settings both nationally and internationally and in both the public and private sectors. A native of Egypt, he was an international student in Italy and in the United States. He speaks fluent Arabic and Italian as well as some French and Spanish.

Nassef holds a Master Degree in Theology and Cross-Cultural Studies and a Master of Divinity Degree, from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois, and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from St. Francis College in Cairo, Egypt. He has also studied Italian Language and literature in Varese, Italy .

I've been a Long Beach City College Classified Staff member since 1997 between both campuses (LAC/PCC). I am very acquainted with both campuses. I have worked under Student Services for the last eight years. Born in Guadalajara , Mexico and grew up in Long Beach , CA and reside here.

When I first arrived to the U.S.A. it was a whole new world for me, and this is where I can relate with our International students who come to this country for the first time. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I am very devoted in helping others and always here to listen if you need someone to talk to in a time of need.

Judy Oh
Counselor

Judy Oh is a full-time International Student Counselor at Long Beach City College. She earned her B.A. degree in Art and Psychology from University of California, Berkeley and her M.S. degree in Counseling from California State University, Los Angeles.

She has been working at LBCC since 1995 in the Counseling and Student Development Department. She enjoys working with international students because she learns so much from them. Judy will assist you in developing your educational and personal goals.
