Welcome to the Long Beach City College On-Line Admissions Application. Before you begin please read the following to help you complete the On-Line Admissions Application.

All Summer on-line applications must be submitted with the signed signature form postmarked by May 2, 2008 to receive a priority online or telephone registration appointment. EXCEPTION: Students applying for on-line classes may use the on-line application, within class registration deadlines, throughout the semester / term.


Starting the Application Process
  • Start by going to the On-line Application Page by clicking the button below

    Important  NOTE: If this is the first time you have visited the Online Application page, you might be re-directed to a login page. If this happens, please click the "back" button on your browser once and you will be taken back to the Online Application page.
  1. Enter the semester/term (current or next) and the year, for which you are applying
  2. Enter your Social Security Number. Note: Your social security number will only be used for Federal Government (i.e. - IRS, Financial Aid, etc.) reporting and internal processing.
    Your social security number will not be used as any type of public student identification.
CONTINUING STUDENTS:
(Enrolled in Spring 2008 or Fall 2007)
Once you have entered your social security number, your name will appear. You then enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN is your date of birth. For example, if your birth date is March 7, 1973, you enter: 030773.
 
NEW STUDENTS:
(Person who has never made an application and/or enrolled at LBCC)
Your seven-digit student ID number will be mailed to you upon completion of the summer online application, if submitted and postmarked by May 2, 2008.
 
RETURNING STUDENTS:
(Student who was enrolled at LBCC, but WAS NOT enrolled Spring 2008 or Fall 2007.)
Once you have entered your social security number, your name will appear. You then enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN is your date of birth. For example, if your birth date is March 7, 1973, you enter: 030773.
 
Important   If a question has an asterisk (*) before it, the question must be answered in order to submit your Long Beach City College Admissions Application.
Important   The SAVE button is to save and submit information. DO NOT click on this button until you have completed the entire application. If you click on this button without completing the entire application, you will have to come into the Long Beach City College Office of Admissions and Records to complete your application.
Important   IMPORTANT: You must use a computer that is able to PRINT this application onto paper for your records, and for the official signature form, that you MUST MAIL OR TURN IN to the Long Beach City College Registrar. (by May 4 , 2007.)

Each page number listed below corresponds to a screen on your computer

  1. The following items must be completed before you move on to the next page: Last name, First name,(Only capitalize the first letters of your last and first names. Do not type all capital letters for your names),Gender,Date of Birth, Address, City, State, Email address,Citizenship, and Are you a legal resident of California?(For the citizenship question, if you were born in the United States of America and you have not given up your American Citizenship your answer is "Native")
  2. For the Highest level of Education field, please respond based on what your status will be when you enter LBCC. If you are in high school and expect to graduate before enrolling in college, you must mark 5 rather than 2 or 3.

  1. All questions on this page MUST be answered. The required fields also include "Start Date of your current stay in California" and Ethnicity. Please click on the arrow on the right side of the Ethnicity box to view selections and chose your Ethnicity by clicking on the appropriate answer.
  2. If you are not a legal dependent of your parent or guardian you may type in "N/A" in the City box (under letter "F".)

  1. The "Assistance" question is only used to help students with assistance in learning. You may choose not to answer this question and later contact the office of Disabled Student Programs and Services for further information. LAC: 562/ 938- 4558; PCC: 562/938-3921.

  1. Please list all colleges and/or universities you have attended, where you have COMPLETED semester units.
  2. "Goal - Why do you want to attend college?" is a required question. Please click on the magnifying glass by the answer box and click on the goal that will best describe your goal.

  1. Please select all the support services you feel you may need. Answering these questions will allow LBCC to better serve you.
  2. Please list the high school you plan to, or have graduated from. This information also allows LBCC to better serve the community.
  3. Please select a "Proposed Major". You may change your major in the future. This is a required field so you must answer using one of the values given. NOTE: There are over 200 majors listed. They are not in alphabetical order. Please scroll through the list and choose the one that best fits your area of interest.
Once you have completed the first five pages of the application please go to the bottom of page 5 and click on the "Submit" button. This action will either send back error messages or it will send you a message on the screen that your application was created successfully. Please print the page and mail to the Registrar's Office if your application was created successfully. If you receive error messages it means you have not completed a required field correctly. You will receive messages on the screen telling you what answer to return to so you can complete the answer. Please make the correction and click on "Submit" again until your application has been accepted successfully.

  1. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE SIGNED SIGNATURE PAGE HAS BEEN RECEIVED by the LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE REGISTRAR.

    NOTE:
    Falsification or withholding of information shall constitute grounds for dismissal.
  2. This application once completed becomes the property of Long Beach City College and will not be returned or deleted. Upon successful submission, you will receive a note on the screen that says "Your application was created successfully." Print this page, sign it and mail it to:

    Unsigned admission applications will not be processed.
    Additional Information:

    ALL Students MUST fill out the Application for Admissions form

    Completed Application for Admission forms are property of the Long Beach Community College District and are used for audit purposes, and cannot be removed from the Admission and Records or Registration areas.

    • An on-line application is available at: www.lbcc.edu for NEW and CONTINUING Students, for priority registration until
      May 2, 2008

    PRIORITY REGISTRATION DEADLINES To obtain a Priority Registration appointment, the paper application must be postmarked by May 2, 2008 or made on the LBCC web site.

    • If you miss the May 2, 2008 deadline, you may still obtain a priority registration appointment by returning the paper application form or the on-line signature page in person, to the Admissions office on either campus by May 14, 2008.

    Once the Registrar has received your completed "signature page" from the on-line application process, or your completed paper application, by the May 2, 2008 deadline, you will be mailed or given your seven-digit Student ID number, your OLE web password, and your priority registration appointment.

    ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION OPPORTUNITY

    • If you miss the May 2, 2008 deadline, you may obtain a registration appointment by returning the paper application form in person, to the Admissions office on either campus by May 14, 2008.Once you walk in with your completed paper application or on-line signature page, after May 14, 2008, you will receive your seven-digit Student ID number, your OLE web password in person from the Admissions office or registration area (when open).

    NOTE: If you miss the deadlines mentioned above, you may still complete the paper application during walk-in registration beginning May 27, 2008.
 
 
What to Do After Applying?    Top
Thank you for applying to Long Beach City College. Once you have successfully completed your online application you may either call the call center at 938-4485 after one business day to receive your student ID number and password to access the online registration which will be available during priority registration and open registration dates or you may come in person to the Admissions office to receive your information to register.
