More than 700 scholarships are given each year, making our scholarship program one of the largest of all community colleges in California. Students are required to only fill out one application and the scholarship committee will match you with the appropriate scholarship, if you are eligible.

The application filing date for the 2012-2013 school year has passed. If you completed and submitted the online application in December 2011, you will be notified by mail in mid-May if you have been awarded.

New application filing dates for the 2013-2014 school year:
Start: Tuesday, September 4, 2012
Ending: Friday, December 7, 2012 at 4 p.m.

2011-2012 Long Beach City College Scholarship Recipients
Spring 2012 Installments

Your Spring 2012 installment will be available on Tuesday January 10, 2012.
In order to claim your Spring 2012 scholarship award, please bring the following items to the scholarship office on or after Tuesday, January 10, 2012.

• Spring 2012 enrollment/class schedule
• Fall 2011 grades
• Spring 2012 sticker affixed to the back of your ID card if you are returning to LBCC

Once we have verified you have met your scholarship requirements, your scholarship will be available on your Higher One account on the designated days.

All scholarship awards will be sent to your 
LBCC Higher One debit card/account.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program

HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) matches students' interests, education background and experience with those of our federal and corporate partners. HNIP interns receive paid round-trip airfare, housing arrangement assistance, emergency medical insurance, a weekly stipend and participation in a two-day orientation in Washington, D.C. Throughout the internship, students also benefit from a wide range of professional, social and cultural activities.

Legacy For Health, Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship
Due: April 30, 2012

Applications are now being accepted for the Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to reduce tobacco use among what the American Legacy Foundation calls Priority Populations*. Priority populations are those populations who are disproportionately targeted by the tobacco industry, or who often lack the tools and resources to combat smoking in their communities.

The scholarship, named for founding Legacy board member, Dr. Alma S. Adams will award two $5,000 scholarships to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. The awards will be granted on a competitive basis for the following: a) a record of commitment to community service on behalf of an underserved community, preferably related to tobacco prevention and/or control and b) the best use of the visual arts, media, creative writing or other creative endeavor to convey culturally appropriate health messages aimed at raising awareness of tobacco’s harmful impact.

Applications will be accepted from January 1, 2012 until April 30, 2012. Awardees will be notified by June 29, 2012.

Campus Explorer Exclusive Scholarship
