How many parking spaces will be lost with this Construction? What new parking will be made available?
Approximately 175 spaces were removed from Lot 2 to accommodate the new portable classroom buildings. 186 additional spaces will be available in the new lots including the future parking lot “UU” - “VV”.
-
Are there other ways to get into PCC besides through Orange Ave? Where else can we enter that will lead to parking?
Yes, you can enter into the main campus off of 20th Street. There are also additional parking spaces at the corner of Walnut and PCH.
-
When will construction be completed?
Several construction projects are underway and will continue for the next several years. These projects include the MDAB Modernization Project Phases I & II, the Fitness Center, Drainage Projects, and Building GG.
-
How will students with disabilities be impacted by all this construction?
All classrooms and facilities will remain fully accessible during construction.
-
What is the best way for me to get up to date information about all construction going on at PCC?
Information about construction on both campuses can be found on the bond website at http://bondprogram.lbcc.edu/
-
Why do you have money to build and yet not enough money to add more classes?
Construction costs are paid with local property taxes from bond measures which passed in 2002 and 2008. By law, proceeds from the bond can only be used for capital projects which include: construction, modernization, rehabilitation, or replacement of college facilities, including the furnishings and equipping of college facilities. The law does not allow these funds to be used for operating expenses like classes or other services.
-
Will the shuttle be running to and from PCC? Where will the shuttle stop be located with all this construction?
Yes, the Viking Voyager will continue to shuttle between LAC and PCC during the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters. At PCC, the shuttle will stop in front of the GG building and at LAC, the shuttle will stop at Veterans Stadium and in-between Parking Lots H and I.
