Film has proved itself to be one of the most immediate and effective modes of communication available to man as well as a seemingly unlimited avenue for artistic expression. The liberal arts student at LBCC is introduced to film's history, criticism and aesthetics as a means of focusing on and integrating the major value systems, intellectual pursuits and aesthetic concerns of our time. In this way the student's study of cinema implements the discovery of humanistic values. The student specializing in film will enjoy the opportunity of applying these concepts by making films in the Film Production classes. In this activity the student is supported with college film-making equipment and by the guidance and counsel of experienced professional faculty.
