Jennifer Hicks Morehouse
I was a high school dropout and ex-felon, and I credit Long Beach City College with helping to cultivate my talent and inspiring me to push myself to my limits. While I initially considered a business degree, I ultimately pursued her true passion: architecture and design. During my time at LBCC, I was deeply involved as a member of the Associated Student Body, the Architecture Club, and every honorary society on campus. My academic excellence and volunteerism earned me the title of Valedictorian in 2017 before I transferred to CSULB and earned a BFA in Interior Design.
Today, I’m the founder of Morehouse Crafted Interiors, a Long Beach-based business bringing thoughtful, personalized design to homes across our community. My commitment to service continues through my volunteer work with the Long Beach Heritage Preservation Society and Defy Ventures, where I helps formerly incarcerated individuals gain economic independence.
My journey reflects the power of dedication and the strong support system I found among the amazing faculty and staff at LBCC.
