Professor, Computer & Office Studies
I was born in Long Beach, California. I am a product of the Long Beach Unified School District having attended Kettering E.S., Hill J.H.S., and Wilson H.S. I received an Honors-at-Entrance Scholarship to USC and competed on the Trojan Track and Field squad, but later transferred to CSULB where I received my B.S. in Financial Management. I also earned my Business Education secondary teaching credential from CSULA. I was hired as a Business Education instructor and began the girl’s track and field/cross country programs as the head coach at my alma mater, Wilson H.S., in 1977.
I continued my educational pursuits earning a master’s degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. I left Wilson in 1990 as an instructor and begain teaching full-time in the Computer and Office Studies Department at Long Beach City College. I continued coaching at Wilson until 1994.My interests include playing beach and indoor volleyball, working out at the gym, and traveling. I still compete in masters’ competition and earned two gold medals (beach doubles and indoor 6s) representing the U.S. at the World Masters’ Games in Sydney, Australia. I hope to continue competing in these sports.
I truly enjoy working with students and teaching a variety of business-related, office technology, and computer application courses using various teaching modes including traditional, self-paced, online, and hybrid.
