Wendy Koenig joined the Visual and Media Arts department at Long Beach City College in 2014. She has been teaching art history full time since 2003 and earned tenure at two 4-year institutions, Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
Her recent research has focused upon Holocaust and atrocity museums and memorials and her scholarship includes essays in Global Perspectives on the Holocaust: History, Identity, Legacy (2015); The Transcultural Turn: Interrogating Memory Between and Beyond Borders (2014); and The Holocaust and World War II: In History and In Memory (2012). Koenig has been an active art critic since 2004, with reviews appearing in Artpapers, The International Review of African American Art; Number: An Independent Art Journal and caa.org. Koenig earned a B.A. from the University of Louisville, an M.F.A. from Ohio University and a Ph.D from the Ohio State University.
