Are You On Track or Off Track?
You Are On Track
If your GPA is between 2.0 and 4.0, Completion Ratio at 50% or higher and your Financial Aid Completion Rate is at 67% or higher then you are ON TRACK.
If you have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, you might be eligible for the Dean’s List. With a GPA of 3.0, you might be eligible for the LBCC Honors Program or qualify for an LBCC scholarship.
ACTION PLAN. Make an appointment with a Counselor to complete or update your Comprehensive Education Plan.
You Are Heading Off Track
If you starting to earn grades of D, F, No Pass (NP) or too many Withdrawals (W), these grades will have a negative impact on your overall academic success at Long Beach City College. Having too many low grades will slow down your academic progress and take you longer to meet your educational goals. At this stage, low grades can impact those who wish to transfer to a CSU, UC or private university and may force the need to repeat classes to fulfill certain GE requirements.
ACTION PLAN. Complete your classes with an A, B, C or Pass grade and limit your Withdrawals (W) and No Pass (NP) grades. You can also get a quick check on your academic status by making an express appointment at the Counseling Office or online.
You are Off Track
If your GPA is 1.99 or lower, Completion Ratio at 49% or lower and your Financial Aid Completion Rate is at 66% or lower, then you are OFF TRACK. Being off track could mean you are on Academic or Progress Probation, at risk of losing your Financial Aid/Fee Waiver, or in danger of being dismissed from LBCC.
If you find yourself in this situation, you should take the time to examine your obligations both in and outside of school. You should also set up some concrete educational goals that you can achieve within your means.
ACTION PLAN. Complete the online workshop and make an appointment with a Counselor to revise your Education Plan.
