Honors Program Admissions Process
Step 1: Complete the Honors Program Application
Please complete the online Honors Program Application.
STEP 2: Ask for recommendations from current or former academic instructors
Obtain two online recommendations from current or former academic instructors. Remember to give them your 7-digit LBCC student ID number and the link to the online Faculty Recommendation Form.
Step 3: Submit your transcripts
CURRENT LBCC & TRANSFER STUDENTS: Email unofficial transcripts from LBCC and any colleges you have attended to the Honors Program. In the Viking Student System, there are multiple ways to view your transcripts – use whatever method you prefer. Students who are already taking college courses do not need to submit high school transcripts.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Email your unofficial high school transcripts to the Honors Program. If available, please email unofficial copies of your AP scores.
Deadlines & Other Information
Applications are accepted throughout the year. For Fall admission, those with complete application packets (application, transcript, and recommendations) received by April 1 will have a decision before the beginning of the Fall registration period. For Spring admission, complete application packets (application, transcript, and recommendations) must be received by October 25 (we have extended the deadline) to have a decision before the beginning of the Spring registration period.
Admission decisions will be announced (by email) before registration opens. If you do not receive an email by then, please contact the Honors Program regarding the status of your application. For those applications submitted after the deadlines listed, please allow 3 weeks after the completed application packet has been received to have a decision.
You may submit all required materials to the Honors Program directly or by email. If you are dropping materials off in person, place the materials in a sealed envelope with your name and contact information and slide it under the door.
