Classified Senate Accreditation Participation
2020 - 2022
For the first time, LBCC Classified Senate representatives will represent the Classified Body in the upcoming Accreditation process.
Accreditation is a self-evaluation process that happens once every seven years. The work will start in January 2020 and go into 2022. The process is essential for LBCC to be able to provide financial aid, ensure our courses will transfer to other colleges, and ensure the public and employers know LBCC programs meet standards of quality. However, it can also be an opportunity for self-reflection about current conditions, future direction, and future goals. We hope that it will also be an opportunity for members of the Classified Body to get involved, contribute to the conversation, as well as offer expertise to the various committees.
Thanks to all who have volunteered so far to represent Classified
Professionals in the Accreditation process:

(There are four “Standards,” but the college has decided to create nine committees since the work of some standards is more than others.)
