County Grant Helps Vikings
CARES for Food Security
Earlier this month, the Long Beach City College Foundation was selected by the California Community Foundation to receive $275,000 from their CARES for Food Security fund.
This grant, which is the largest single-term grant the LBCC Foundation has received, will provide gap services for students during the College’s winter intersession and allow the LBCC Basic Needs Program to purchase refrigeration so they can provide perishable foods to students.
The California Community Foundation has supported our students for 19 years, providing scholarships, general support, and funding for nursing and aviation. We are proud to continue our partnership with their organization and look forward to the incredible impact this grant will have on our students.
The California Community Foundation’s mission is to lead positive systemic change that strengthens Los Angeles communities.
