What is Dual Enrollment?

Students enroll in college classes while still in high school.

What types of Dual Enrollment programs does LBCC offer? 

  Individual Dual Enrollment Early College Pathways Partnership (ECPP)
School District Any school district, Charter School or Homeschool program Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) and Learn4Life Charter School
Grade Middle School
Grade 9 – 12
Grade 11 – 12
(For the summer term, incoming 11th & 12th-grade students can participate)
Courses Any available course, if pre-requisite requirements are met Specially selected courses and sections.
Support Services General LBCC services General LBCC services + Coordinated support services designed for college and career preparation
Fees Enrollment Fees are waived Enrollment + Health Fees are waived
Books If required, students must purchase Loaned through Early College Initiatives Department

Applying for Individual Dual Enrollment

High School Dual Enrollment

STEP 1: Complete Admissions Application
  • Create a CCC Apply Account by clicking “Create an Account”. Your CCC APPLY ID will be comprised of letters and numbers (LBC1234) and sent to you by email after creating your account. 
  • Log into the [LBCC Application] with your CCC Apply login information and complete a campus application.
  • Your LBCC VIKING ID is a seven-digit number (1234567) and will be sent within 24-48 hours, via email, after completing an application.
If you need assistance, review the Application Assistance Handout or visit the Welcome Center in person. 
Step 2: Submit the Dual Enrollment Form 
LBUSD Students (Middle School Included)

Complete the Dual Enrollment Form and submit the form on the Admissions page.

NOTE: Counselor/Administrator signature is required.
Non-LBUSD Students

Complete the HS Dual Enrollment Form and submit the form on the Admissions page.

NOTE: Counselor/Administrator signature is required.
Step 3: Complete the Online Orientation

Log into the Viking Student System and complete the online orientation. Review the LBCC New Student Online Access Guide to create a password and access the Viking Student System.

Step 4: Check your Course Placement information 

When you complete your application, you will be asked to provide information from your high school transcripts such as your last English and Math courses. This information is used to determine your course placements in English, Reading, Math or ESL. You can check your course placements under My Placement Results in your Viking Student System. If you have additional questions regarding Assessment & Placement, please visit the Matriculation Office

Step 5: Register for Classes

You can register through the Viking Student Portal during the open registration period. 

Step 6: Pay Your Fees

If approved, your enrollment fees will be waived. You are responsible for paying the Student Health Services Fee, Materials Fee (if applicable), Parking Fee (Optional), and College Services Card Fee (Optional).  You can pay your fees through the Viking Student Portal by using a debit or credit cards or by visiting the Cashier’s Office at LAC (Building A, Room 1081) or PCC (Building GG, Room 101). 

Textbooks & Materials

You can find and purchase your required course items through the Barnes & Noble Viking Bookstore.

Applying for Early College Pathways Partnership (ECPP)

Step 2: Submit the ECPP Application & Dual Enrollment Form

Complete and submit an ECPP Program Application. You will need to upload a completed HS Dual Enrollment Form. High School Counselor or Administrator signatures are required.

Step 3: Confirm Course Selection and Placement

You will receive an email with information on your course placement. Your dual enrollment form will be submitted to Admissions & Records by the ECPP team after you confirm your participation in the program and the course. 

Step 4: Attend ECPP Orientation 

Information will be e-mailed by the ECPP team.
