The “Funding Our Future” Campaign has been adopted by the Long Beach City College Foundation Board of Governors.  This student-facing comprehensive campaign is raising funds to support Nursing, College Promise, Trade and Technical, Scholarship, Emergency and Basic Needs, Athletics, Lifetime Learning, Childhood Development and more.

“Our goal is to have funds readily available now and in the future for student need in all forms as well as establishing endowments around critical programs,” stressed Executive Director of the Long Beach City College Foundation Paul Kaminski, “this campaign will culminate in 2027 with the celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Long Beach City College.”

Angela Fowlkes, Financial Aid Specialist at LBCC, recently shared her story with the Foundation Board of Governors.  “I am grateful for all the financial support I received from this community.  It has allowed me and my five daughters to excel in life.” Angela now plans to establish her own scholarship in honor of her niece Kimberly and nephew Alex, both former LBCC students.  Angela emphasized, “Contributing to other’s success is important to me and my family,”

“Angela’s story is powerful,” noted Board member Bruce DD MacRae, “she is a shining example of why we support the work of the Foundation, and why this campaign is critical.”

Interim Superintendent-President Lou Anne Bynum echoes this sentiment: “During these challenging times, assisting our students through our amazing LBCC Foundation is one of the best investments for our future. One of the greatest things we can do right now for our local community is to provide assistance to our Foundation, which in turn helps our students who will be trained and supported in their chosen fields of work.”
