FPD Conference Information

Post

Faculty must complete a Travel Authorization Application for each conference for which prepayment or reimbursement is requested. If you plan to attend a conference but are not requesting reimbursement, you must submit a Request for Leave of Absence to your department head. Please refer to the Travel Authorization Application Process before submitting an application.

Please ensure the following criteria are met to avoid delays in processing your Travel Authorization Application, which may result in denial of funding:

  • Your request must be received by the Faculty Professional Development Office at least 8 weeks before your date of travel.
  • Per the Travel Guidelines, all applicants must thoroughly answer the question on the Travel Authorization Application: HOW DOES YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT BENEFIT THE DISTRICT?
  • Various sources of funding are available for full-time and part-time faculty to attend conferences. Review the information below to determine if you qualify to receive funding from any of these sources. If applicable, attach the appropriate supplemental form to your Travel Authorization Application.
  • All signatures must be original; photocopies will not be accepted.
  • Please use the current form. Outdated forms will be returned to the applicant.
  • Please attach all required supporting documents. Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant.
Please submit all travel requests through your department’s academic administrative Assistant. Do not send your request directly to the Faculty Professional Development Office.
