The Long Beach City College Foundation welcomed Gina Mascaro as the Director of Athletic Fundraising and Development. Gina brings over 18 years of philanthropic experience including time with Athletes in Action, The Long Beach Rescue Mission, and most recently St. Anthony High School.  Gina also received a full Division 1 athletic scholarship to play softball at the University of Pittsburgh and coached Division 1 softball at Marshall University while earning her Master’s Degree in Business communications. “Athletics has played a pivotal role in my life,” said Mascaro. “Now I have the opportunity to give back on a collegiate level.”

Interim Dean of Kinesiology, Health Education and Athletics, Randy Totorp added, “I am more than excited about welcoming Gina Mascaro to LBCC, the Foundation and to the Viking Athletic team.  It has long been a dream of mine to build a focus on Athletic Advancement to support our student athletes, our coaches and staff here at LBCC.  Gina knows the Long Beach community, is a proven advancement professional and has a deep understanding of athletics. We share the same goal and focus of delivering a better future for our students and using athletics as a catalyst with education to be transformational in their lives.”

Gina has deep ties to local athletics, growing up in the area and graduating from Lakewood High School before returning after college to work with local organizations and athletes. “This is an important piece of the Funding Our Future campaign,” emphasized LBCC Foundation Executive Director, Paul Kaminski. “We’ve had a storied history of athletic success and now we have some of the best new facilities in Southern California.  It is time elevate the athletic experience and athletic fundraising here at LBCC.”
