The Munzer Foundation Supports LBCC Child Development Centers
Toy Lending Library
It is with great pleasure that we share wonderful news. The Rudolph J. and Daphne A. Munzer Foundation approved a grant in support of the Long Beach City College Foundation for Promoting Play and Equity with a Toy Lending Library. This grant of $10,000 will directly support the Child Development Centers (CDC) at both the LAC and PCC campuses in their mission to provide a positive learning environment for toddlers and preschoolers.
The Toy Lending Library will offer a diverse selection of toys, including toys for kids with special needs and different learning levels. The philosophy of the CDC is that kids learn best in a hands-on learning environment. As engaging toys tend to be expensive, this will provide access to equitable home play and learning opportunities to low income families in our community. The CDC serves the children of students, staff, faculty, as well as the local community. Locations are open at both the Liberal Arts Campus and the Pacific Coast campus year round, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
The future of the community begins with our kids. To learn more about the CDC, please go to lbcc.edu/child-development-center. To make a gift, please go to lbcc.edu/pod/makeagift.
