The new login process described below started Monday, June 16, 2014. 

LBCC Students

Click here to update your password

Step 1: Your Viking ID is your seven digit student ID number. (The “W” is no longer used.)

Step 2: Enter the last four digits of your SSN and your birthday in MMDDYYYY format, OR your CCCID.

Then choose the “Continue” button.

CCCApply is the online gateway to all California Community Colleges. There is now one ID number for students in the entire state of California.

  • If you applied BEFORE to July 28, 2016 , enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number. 
  • If you applied AFTER July 28, 2016, enter your CCCID. Your CCCID was sent in an e-mail from support@openccc.net, or it can be recovered at the OpenCCC Account Recovery website.

Step 3: With your identity verified, you can now click “Can’t Remember Password” to change your password.

Step 4: Now choose “Change My Password.”

Step 5: Now, enter your new password twice to confirm. Your new password must be at least seven characters long and contain at least two of the following three criteria: 

  • One number
  • One capital letter.
  • One special character. 

Then click “Go.”

Step 6: Choose the Log Off / Exit button. Click Log off / Exit once your password is successfully changed. If you have trouble, click “Submit Help Request.” The HelpDesk will get back to you by e-mail to assist.

LBCC Faculty and Staff

SINGLE SIGN ON: As of June 16, 2014, your LBCC User ID for LBCC e-mail, Employee Self Service (PeopleSoft)  and the Viking Student System (PeopleSoft) will be the same. Faculty members will no longer use the “X” account.

Below are instructions to set up your LBCC password for the first time, or to change it if you have forgotten it, or if you wish to change it for security.

Set your password for the first time

Step 1: Your “Domain Username” is your LBCC Network ID, usually your first intial and last name. Enter it, as shown below. Do not enter the “@lbcc.edu” after.

Step 2: If you are accessing the system for the first time, you will see the screen below after you enter your user name. You will see some instructions on this screen, then click  the “Continue” button.

Step 3: Choose a Security Image. IMPORTANT, you may be returning to this site in the future. You will NEED TO REMEMBER your image.

Step 4: After you have chosen an image, you will then be prompted to enter your Security PIN. Note that the Security Image is selected. IMPORTANT, when you return to this page in the future, you will NEED TO REMEMBER  your PIN as well. You will need to enter your PIN twice. 

Step 5: You will be prompted to enter the temporary password you used earlier.

Step 6: Enter your new password twice to confirm, as shown below. Your new password must be at least seven characters long and contain at least two of the following three criteria: 

  • One number
  • One capital letter.
  • One special character. 

Then click “Go.”

Step 7: Exit the program. If you have problems, you can choose “Submit Help Request,” or call the HelpDesk at (562) 938-4357.

Update your password

Step 1: Enter your Domain User Name. This is your Network ID, usually your first initial / last name

Step 2: Choose on the Security Image you chose previously.

Step 3: On the next screen, you will need to enter the last four digits of your SSN again.

Step 4: Now you can choose the “Change My Password” button.

Step 5: If you would like to change your password for security, enter your current password here. If you have forgotten your password, choose the “Can’t Remember Password?” link. Both choices will lead to number 6 below.

Step 6: Enter your new password twice to confirm, as shown below. Your new password must be at least seven characters long and contain at least two of the following three criteria: 

  • One number
  • One capital letter.
  • One special character. 

Then click “Go.”

Step 7: Exit the program. If you have problems, you can choose “Submit Help Request,” or call the HelpDesk at (562) 938-4357.
