Welcome to a New Fiscal Year!
Following two of the most successful years in the history of the Long Beach City College (LBCC) Foundation, strategic plans, fundraising endeavors, and a staff celebration are all in the works. The LBCC Foundation Board of Governors is also undergoing some changes. Aaron Moore becomes the new President replacing past-President Dr. Serafin Zasueta, Sumer Temple is President-elect, Mark Taylor assumes the treasurer’s role and Valarie Frost is Secretary.
“The LBCC Foundation is evolving daily,” emphasizes Foundation CEO Paul Kaminski, “We have a talented staff, and they continue to enhance and define their roles. They are never happy with the status quo and are always looking for ways to improve school and community relationships as well as providing funding sources for our students.”
As the Foundation ramps up athletic fundraising, faculty/staff giving, President’s Circle, community giving, and alumni giving, the focus remains on the students. “Student success is priority number one,” points out LBCC alumna and Director of Advancement and Campaigns, Tanya Adolph.
With that being said, The Board of Governors recently awarded a substantial scholarship to LBCC student Nic Alvarado who will be presenting his project in Paris, France in mid-September. He credits LBCC Professor Jason Ortiz for his inspiration. This scholarship will help Nic make his dreams a reality! You can check out Nic on Instagram by clicking here.
