Jeffrey A. Kellogg

Former Vice Mayor, Long Beach City Council member and Long Beach City College (LBCC) Alumni Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Kellogg officially assumed his duties as a member of the college’s Board of Trustees in 2002 and continues to represent the northwest portion of the Long Beach Community College District Area 1. He is currently serving as President of the Board of Trustees for an unprecedented fifth term.
Mr. Kellogg professionally specializes in Educational and Facility Master Planning; State Reporting and Accreditation Compliance for community college districts. He has assisted over 25 districts/colleges in California over the past ten years. Prior to his career in educational planning, he worked as a Corporate Services Director in commercial and investment real estate. Mr. Kellogg has the distinction of representing clients in real estate transactions in 38 states across the nation. He began his professional career after college, working in the oil industry for the Long Beach-based Kellogg Drilling Company. He began as a manual laborer (“Roughneck”) and worked his way up through the oil field positions to eventually becoming the Vice President of Operations.
His accomplishments on the City Council included establishing the “Kids Council” and “Youth in Government” Programs designed to help students learn more about local government; organized job fairs in the Carmelitos Housing Community, the largest public housing project in the City of Long Beach; authored legislation requiring a financial impact analysis of all City initiatives; the development of the landmark Long Beach Airport Noise Ordinance; worked with local employers and residents in establishing the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association and the North Long Beach Redevelopment Area; as well as spearheading the Long Beach Economic Partnership to find ways to enhance and retain businesses in the City. He was also instrumental in having his friend and renowned artist Wyland paint the world’s largest mural called “Planet Ocean” on the Sports Arena in downtown Long Beach.
Mr. Kellogg was born and raised in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach. He attended Longfellow Elementary, Hughes Junior High School and Jordan High School where he was active in student government and sports. Following his days as a student at LBCC, he attended the University of Oregon on an athletic scholarship, lettering in football and earning his Bachelor of Science Degree. He was also honored with an Outstanding Senior Award.
Jeff Kellogg and his wife Pam have lived in the Los Cerritos area of Long Beach for the past 30 years. They are both involved in numerous organizations and causes that reflect their personal beliefs and interests. Pam owns and operates her successful interior design showrooms in Orange and San Diego County. Their son, Trevor, recently graduated from the University of Washington and working in Washington DC. Their daughter, Rachel, is a Nursing major at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. Both graduated from Poly High School.
