The Department of History and Political Science takes students on a deep dive into culture, civilization, and government through the ages. The department’s history courses teach students about historical events and literacy for insight into how our world got to where we are today and how we are moving into the future. The department’s political science courses teach the fundamentals of government in the U.S. and abroad, as well as political theory, the U.S. Constitution, and our legal system.
Dance, music, and theater are the art of presentation. The Performing Arts Department offers a wide range of classes in each of these creative disciplines: classical and modern dance, vocal and instrumental music, acting, and production and management in stage and film. Courses prepare students for their next step: be it a four-year college, specialty arts school or professional career. The department offers Associate of Arts degrees in dance, music, general theater arts, and acting.
