About Us
The Growth and Opportunities (GO) Project is a Student Support Services Program which provides an array of comprehensive academic and personal support services for students with physical, learning and/or psychological disabilities, 1/3 of whom are low-income and who have a demonstrated academic need. The Project staff work in conjunction with college faculty and other campus units to provide the following services:
- Academic tutoring
- Course selection and advising
- Financial aid and scholarship workshops
- Financial literacy education and counseling
- Transfer advising, planning and assistance
- Monitoring academic progress
- Associate’s Degree graduation advising, planning and assistance
- Academic Support, including study skill and other workshops
- Personal development workshops, events, and activities
These services actively engage, assist, and encourage students to become active learners. Through these efforts to provide academic and personal support, the Project will successfully impact the retention and transfer rates of students with disabilities by surpassing the retention, graduation, and transfer rate of the student body at large.
