WHAT ARE LBCC SUCCESS CENTERS?
| |
LBCC Success Centers are places that offer students a variety of services and resources to help them succeed in their classes. Some examples of services and resources are tutoring, supplemental learning activities, basic skills improvement, use of computers and software, study skills workshops, and private study rooms. All of the services and resources are free! Refer to the "Services" tab on the left for a complete list of services that each center offers.

WHAT ARE SUPPLEMENTAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES?
| |
Supplemental learning activities, also known as SLA activities, are activities which are designed to help students with the most challenging aspects of some of the courses at LBCC. These activities are specially designed to be tied to what occurs in the classroom. SLA activities come in 3 formats: Workshops (larger groups taught by Instructional Specialists), directed study groups (smaller groups led by tutors), and DLAs (directed learning activities) (individual activities concluding with a follow-up session with a Center staff member).

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CLASS REQUIRES ME TO COMPLETE SUPPLEMENTAL LEARNING ACTIVITES?
| |
Refer to the "Classes that Require Supplemental Learning" tab to see a complete list of classes which currently require supplemental learning. If you are enrolled in one or more of the classes listed, you must complete a predetermined number of activities through one of the Success Centers as part of your course work for that class. Your classroom instructor should assign specific activities and the deadline by which to complete them.

CAN I GO TO EITHER CAMPUS TO COMPLETE MY REQUIRED SUPPLEMENTAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES?
| |
Requirements for all courses can be completed at either the subject-specific center at the LAC campus or at the Multidisciplinary Success Center at the PCC campus. Refer to the "Classes that Require Supplemental Learning" list for more specific information for your course. However, most courses listed under "Trades" on the "Classes that Require Supplemental Learning" list must be completed at the CTE Center at the PCC Campus.
