Kari Ann Pike
Assistant Professor, Communications Studies
Long Beach City College is where my passion for learning about communication was ignited. After receiving an AA in Liberal Arts from LBCC, I continued onto CSULB where I earned a B.A. and MA in Communication Studies. I began teaching at LBCC in 2000. I believe that being an effective communicator is essential for growth and satisfaction in one’s personal and professional life; I am passionate about helping my students build on the communication skills they already possess and teaching them how to apply new knowledge in their everyday lives. My classes are engaging, encouraging and relevant. I want my students to come to class ready to work hard and have fun while doing it! Outside of teaching, I enjoy camping, hiking and riding my motorcycle at the racetrack.
