Academic Services

The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership and support for instructional and academic programs at Long Beach City College. For more information regarding our services and college planning, please visit the following section on our archive site.

Administrative & Business Services facilitates the efficient and effective utilization of college resources to further the goal of student success and the educational mission of the college. We work proactively with all college constituents to aid in the implementation of the Strategic Plan and to integrate our professional expertise in the areas of Fiscal Services, Facilities, Instructional & Information Technology Services and Business Support Services to design and implement working solutions to operational and academic challenges.

Human Resources

The LBCC Human Resources team recruits, develops and protects the college’s most valuable resource – its employees. The HR team is dedicated to attracting, retaining, and supporting a qualified diverse workforce in order to meet the educational needs of the students. The HR team does this by providing quality service to the internal and external campus community, and adhering to open, equitable and ethical personnel standards.

Dr. Mike Munoz (edited)

Student Services

Dr. Mike Muñoz is Long Beach City College’s Vice President of Student Services. He provides executive leadership to LBCC’s Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, Student Health and Psychological Services, Student Life, Athletics, EOP&S, Guardian Scholars, Cal WORKS, Veterans Resource Center, TRIO GO and Upward Bound, Student Equity, and Welcome Center. He was appointed in 2018. LBCC serves more than 25,000 students at two campuses. Dr. Muñoz is a product of the California Community College system.

Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) supports student success by providing leadership and coordination of Accreditation efforts, institutional planning, program planning and review, and institutional research. The Office of IE strives to promote excellence and equity in student learning, educational practices and quality of service by establishing and maintaining a campus culture of self-evaluation and improvement at all levels of the institution.
