Robert Olson
Production Technician, Performing Arts

Contact PCC, FF-101A & 101B

Robert has worked in live entertainment for more than 13 years, primarily as an audio technician hosting a variety of acts: blues, rock, big band, bluegrass, jugglers, comedians, community dance troupes, ballet folkorico, hypnotists, orchestras, Polynesian dancers and more. Robert’s career has primarily focused on live audio reinforcement, but he has worked his way up from the bottom. Pushing boxes for acts like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lynnard Skynnard, The Beach Boys and Carrot Top, Robert is no stranger to hard labor on the big stage.

Educated as a Political Science major from Cal Poly Pomona (BA, 2009), with an emphasis on International Relations and Global Economy, Robert has dabbled in the political and nonprofit world working with the San Bernardino County Supervisors office, Second District, and nonprofits such as US Green Building Council, Common Good, and Red Cross.

Before coming to LBCC Robert worked for the Santa Ana Unified School District as a Stage Manager at Saddleback High School. From 2005 to 2014 Robert was also a crew member of the Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga where he was part of several shows including Into The Woods, Evita, Treasure Island, Grease, Art Garfunkle, Tiffany, the International Summer Series and more.

In his off time, Robert works on improving his illustration skills while mastering the art of hand-pulled screen printed posters and converting old shipping pallets into practical furniture.
