Black Mental Health Matters
Part of the Healthy Viking Black Health Initiative Series
Black people in LA County are second most likely to be at risk of major depression and to report that they are currently depressed. Through this workshop we’ll explore some of the socioecological factors impacting mental health outcomes of Black people and how poor mental health can impact a person’s quality of life.
This workshop will also address the issues around help seeking, including the impact of stigma, as well as providing ideas about ways in which that help and support can be accessed within the community. This event will take place on Thurs., March 21 from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Valhalla room, Building E, LAC.
