Building on a Dream: History of the African American Spirituals
Join Calvin Earl to experience the legendary story of how the enslaved Africans in America created a piece of original music known today as African American Spirituals that enabled them to secretly communicate routes on the Underground Railroad. You will gain a better understanding of how the enslaved used music to teach their young, record their history and heal their pain.
