LBCC Art Gallery Fall Exhibition – Our Culture Our Resistance
Aug. 24 – Sept. 14
The LBCC’s Art Gallery Fall Exhibition is Our Culture Is Our Renaissance and will run Aug. 24 – Sept. 17. The photography of Jonathan Moller is featured in this dramatic exhibition about the genocide in Guatemala during the Guatemalan Civil War (1960-1966) that left 166,000 indigenous Mayans dead. Thousands more vanished.
The images (photographed 1993 to 2001) portray communities in resistance, captured against the backdrop of Guatemala’s tumultuous past, each a window into a world of life, death, hope and despair during these trying times. Click Here for complete details about the Gallery, the Exhibition, the Photographer and his Sept. 5 talk. LBCC Art Gallery is located at the K100, Liberal Arts Campus. Hours are Mon.-Thurs., 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
