Viking Show Band (Music 49AD) 
Tuesday 6:45-9:45pm

The Viking Show Band brings fun and excitement to numerous Long Beach City College events. The main function of the show band is to play at home football and basketball games, as well as other spirited activities in and around the college community, including the annual “Band Spectacular.” The repertoire is primarily “popular in nature and includes music from the 40’s through the present. Both music majors and non-majors are welcome to join. Along with having a great time meeting new people, the band gets dinner at all football games. The band also performs at Disneyland each year. Instrumentation consist of tradition marching instruments with the exception of percussion. A rhythm section similar to a jazz band is used including: drum set, auxiliary percussion, and electric bass. Wind Ensemble (Music 38AD)
Monday & Wednesday 12:45-2:10pm

The LBCC Wind Ensemble studies and performs both traditional and contemporary wind music. Guest artist and conductors often work with this group and all students are challenged to create music at the highest artistic level. The Wind Ensemble performs at least twice a semester, along with traveling on its annual tour during the Spring Semester.
