DACA Decision Student Debrief
Workshop
On Thursday, June 18, the Supreme Court of the United States released their final decision on DACA. The Supreme Court sided with immigrant communities and has stopped the current administration from ending the DACA program. An estimated 454,000 undocumented immigrant college students comprise roughly 2 percent of the U.S. higher education system. About half — 216,000 — are eligible for the DACA program. California Community Colleges Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley Issues Statement on Supreme Court ruling that continues DACA.
LBCC DREAM Services along with the Healthy Viking Initiative will be hosting a student debrief on the DACA decision by the Supreme Court of the United States. Topics will include resiliency, self-care, and the importance of accessing resources.
