Vaccination Verification/Testing Process for Fall 2021 Students

Notice

Starting Fall 2021, all students who will be taking in-person classes must either be vaccinated or be tested weekly.

As Long Beach City College previously announced, Fall 2021 students who are currently unvaccinated can receive a $300 voucher that can be used at the LBCC Barnes and Noble bookstore if you get your two Moderna or Pfizer vaccination shots or one Johnson & Johnson vaccination shot by Mon., Aug. 30. This offer is only for students who become fully vaccinated between Aug. 3 and Aug. 30. This also includes those students who received their first shot in July and their second shot in August. Please note that this voucher is being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Process for Submitting Proof of Vaccination

Please visit the newly-launched Return to Campus website, under Info for Students, and click on the “Vaccination Incentive” tab for the instructions to submit your proof of vaccination on desktop or your mobile device.

How to Receive the $300 Voucher

Once LBCC receives and processes your verification, you will receive an email with further instructions on how to claim your $300 voucher.

Items Eligible for Purchase from Bookstore

The voucher may be used for in-store and online purchases from the bookstore, except gift cards. It is not restricted to only books.

For Students Taking In-Person Classes: COVID-19 Testing Process

For students who are taking in-person classes who cannot provide proof of verification of vaccination —you will need to be weekly tested for COVID-19. Please check the Vaccination & Testing Mandate tab to read the instructions on how to take your test on campus, or how to submit your results if you take your COVID-19 tests off-campus.

For Students Taking In-Person Classes: When Do Students Need to Take Their Test?

If you are unvaccinated and are taking an in-person class that starts during the week of Aug. 30, you will need to take your first COVID-19 test the week prior to the start of your class in order for you to start on the first day of class.

Weekly negative test results are required for those students who have not submitted proof of vaccination for Fall 2021. Students who are partially vaccinated (only 1 dose of Moderna or Pfizer) have until Sept. 30, 2021, to fully vaccinate.  After Sept. 30 students with only 1 dose will need to test weekly and provide negative results until fully vaccinated.

For Students Taking In-Person Classes: Screening

Please give yourself ample time (at least 30 minutes) prior to your scheduled class start time to go through the health screening process during the first few weeks of class as LBCC works to streamline this new process.

Face Covering Requirement Reminder

In alignment with local health orders, everyone over the age of 2 must wear face coverings while on campus — both indoors and outdoors.
