When Should I Submit My Application?
There are two application windows: March 15 – May 15 for Fall admission and September 15 – November 15 for Spring admission. Students may apply outside of these periods, but application processing may take longer and students may have fewer classes to choose from when registering.
Applications will only be processed once all materials have been received, including letters of recommendation.
How Do I Submit My Transcripts and AP Scores?
You may submit all required materials (unofficial documents are acceptable, and a screenshot is easy to email) to the Honors Program directly or by email. If you are dropping materials off in person, place the materials in a sealed envelope with your name and contact information and slide it under the door.
Please note: Admissions & Records is not associated with the Honors Program and you will need to submit transcripts and test scores directly to the Honors Program even if you have already submitted those to Admissions & Records.
How Will I Find Out Whether or Not I Have Been Accepted to the Honors Program?
Admission decisions will be announced (by email) before registration opens. If you do not receive an email by then, please contact the Honors Program regarding the status of your application. For those applications submitted after the dates listed, please allow up to 3 weeks after the completed application packet has been received to have a decision.
Honors Program Admissions Process
Step 1: Complete the Honors Program Application
Please complete the online Honors Program Application.
Step 2: Ask for recommendations from current or former academic instructors
Obtain two online recommendations from current or former academic instructors. Remember to give them your 7-digit LBCC student ID number and the link to the online Faculty Recommendation Form.
Step 3: Submit your transcripts and AP scores, if applicable
Current LBCC & transfer students: Email unofficial transcripts from LBCC and any colleges you have attended to the Honors Program. In the Viking Student System, there are multiple ways to view your transcripts – use whatever method you prefer. If you are applying to the Honors Program with fewer than 9 graded units from LBCC, please also submit your unofficial high school transcripts.
High school students: Email your unofficial high school transcripts to the Honors Program. If available, please email unofficial copies of your AP scores.
