Application Information
When Should I Submit My Application?
Applications are accepted throughout the year.
How Do I Submit My Transcripts and AP Scores?
You may submit all required materials (unofficial documents are acceptable, and a screenshot is easy to email) to the Honors Program directly or by email. If you are dropping materials off in person, place the materials in a sealed envelope with your name and contact information and slide it under the door.
Please note: Admissions & Records is not associated with the Honors Program and you will need to submit transcripts and test scores directly to the Honors Program even if you have already submitted those to Admissions & Records.
How Will I Find Out Whether or Not I Have Been Accepted to the Honors Program?
During our application windows (March 15 to May 15 and September 15 to November 15), we will generally let you know within two weeks of receiving a complete application whether or not you have been admitted to the program. Notification will come via email, so be sure to check your junk mail folder. If you do not hear from us within this time period, it’s likely that we’re still missing part of your application. At that point, feel free to email or call us about the status of your application. Applications received outside of the application windows will be processed more slowly.
Honors Program Admissions Process
Step 1: Complete the Honors Program Application
Please complete the online Honors Program Application.
Step 2: Ask for recommendations from current or former academic instructors
Obtain two online recommendations from current or former academic instructors. Remember to give them your 7-digit LBCC student ID number and the link to the online Faculty Recommendation Form.
Step 3: Submit your transcripts and AP scores, if applicable
Current LBCC & transfer students: Email unofficial transcripts from LBCC and any colleges you have attended to the Honors Program. In the Viking Student System, there are multiple ways to view your transcripts – use whatever method you prefer. If you are applying to the Honors Program with fewer than 9 graded units from LBCC, please also submit your unofficial high school transcripts.
High school students: Email your unofficial high school transcripts to the Honors Program. If available, please email unofficial copies of your AP scores.
