Creating a campus of care

Post
a student getting support from a staff

To cultivate a classroom and campus environment that is conducive to student learning, thriving, and accomplishments, it is essential to acknowledge that struggling with personal, emotional, or health stressors can interfere with progress. Many students face overwhelming challenges in pursuit of their educational goals. There is strength in reaching out for help, and help is available right here at LBCC.

Services available for students include individual therapy sessions, classroom presentations, and workshops. We also offer faculty consultations regarding students. Information about appointments and classroom visits can be obtained by calling 562-938-3987 or by visiting the Student Mental Health Services in person LAC, A-1010 or PCC, GG-117.

The information provided here includes concrete suggestions for helping emotionally distressed students connect with available college and community resources. There are also recommendations for faculty and staff to support students when there is a concern for their well-being. We encourage you to use the suggestions on this website and students are welcome to stop by Student Health Services for more support.
